Testing

The IconX Shear Connectors have been tested extensively. In each test, we analyze the load and deflection of the samples. The Double Shear test allows us to minimize external variables, providing reliable data that can be used to make more accurate calculations. We then verify our test numbers against real-world results by performing full-scale beam tests.

Double Shear

This industry-standard test produces a load-deflection curve. By pushing the middle layer of concrete in-plane, we create a shear load that mimics real-world forces. The data we receive from this test gives us predictable deflections of the icon connector for any load.

Full Scale

32' long by 4' wide panels were used to confirm the computer-generated load-deflection curves. The computer modeling proved to be very accurate in predicting the load capacity, deflection, and cracking moment of the full-scale panels during testing.
